"Hi. My name is Rocky, and I'm an aggressaholic. All my life I figured everyone was out to get me - the Shepherd down the block, the kids next door, the mailman, etc. I thought the only way to protect myself was to do unto others before they did unto me. My humans tried to help, but sometimes their yelling and jerking only made me feel more vulnerable, like if I didn't take action to defend myself, no one else would. I know it's not their fault. I have to take responsibility for my own choices. But let me tell you, I felt powerless to change. People thought I was a big mean bully, and I suppose they were right. Then one day they brought home a Gentle Leader^®. At first I wasn't so sure about this thing - it felt different than my normal choke collar. But you know what - after a few minutes I somehow felt better ... like someone else was in control, and would be responsible to make sure everything goes right. I didn't have to worry so much anymore, and that made it easier to relax. Now I don't feel like I have to defend myself all the time, and I'm finding that some of the people and dogs I thought were out to get me are actually pretty nice. They appreciate my tail wagging a lot more than my growling and snapping. I owe it all to my Gentle Leader^®."

"Due to a problem at birth I have a slight handicap, and I don't view the world like my friends - sometimes even simple things scare me! I was agoraphobic (at least that's what I've heard my owner say). She had tried a different training techniques, but none of it made much sense to me.

But I do understand the basics about how us dogs relate in a pack - I might be handicapped, but my natural instincts are intact! Thank goodness for Gentle Leader^® - when I wear it I know my human friend is the leader and will keep me safe. Now I can go out in public and enjoy myself!"

"Fine. Lots of dogs are saying all kings of wonderful glowing stuff about this Gentle Leader^® thing, but I'm telling you, it's not what it's cracked up to be. Let's get real. Walks used to be a blast. I could go anywhere I wanted to go. Sure, I know, dragging my human behind me did slow me down a bit. And I suppose we were walking less and less often because of something called "elbow, shoulder and back strain." But what's the use of going out if you can't ram your nose into the crotch of every passer by? What's the fun if you can't knock people flat on their tush? How can life be worth living if you can't chase every squirrel and cat? Well, wait a second ... I guess chasing the ball and frisbee is pretty good. And it's not so bad being petted and scratched by people we meet. They never used to do that before. Come to think of it, now that we have Gentle Leader^® I spend a lot more time in the house and out on walks. Before that I was doing an awful lot of time chained in the back yard. You know, the more I think about, I suppose that Gentle Leader^® has made my life a teensie bit better. Alright, a LOT better. Jeez, I hate having to admit I'm wrong."
