Your product is truly amazing, my Giant Schnauzer has become transformed. His choke collar was no deterrent to pulling or lunging. Even the pinch collar, which used to get his attention, has become less effective as he's gotten older and stronger. From the moment I put on the Gentle Leader®, which didn't bother him in the least, he has been a different dog, so much calmer and more relaxed. Sirocco is very protective and when friends or strangers try to enter the house, he nips at their heels and barks constantly. Today for the first time in history, he quietly greeted company. The fact that he is unneutered tends to make him more aggressive and dominant. The headcollar makes me the "top dog" as his dog instincts respond to the muzzle pressure and that puts me in control, which is really nice for a change. I plan on posting your flyer at our local park. Thanks for providing such a valid product. Carol Wagner-Martin back to the top I have an 85 pound Old English Sheepdog named Thatcher. We adopted her from someone who had never taught her that cars are dangerous and that walking down the street should be enjoyable and not an attempt to choke yourself quickly! Thanks to this great collar, I can walk Thatcher without dislocating my shoulder and now I'm not afraid to allow my children to walk her. Thanks a million!!!!!!!! Kim Sproull back to the top My Yellow Labrador Retriever, Waverly, is more than just a pet. She is also my guide dog. Since I am small (90 lbs.) and Waverly is an average female Lab (70 lbs.), I had a difficult time controlling her around distractions during the first few weeks of training with her. Often, my corrections were not effective with a standard choke collar. Even though Waverly did great work when there weren't any distractions, I became tired and frustrated trying to keep her attention on her job. As you can imagine, even a mildly distracted guide dog is not safe. So the trainer put a Gentle Leader® Headcollar on Waverly and taught me how to use it. About six minutes later, we went into the kennel area. There were a lot of dogs to distract her but I had complete control. I couldn't believe how much easier it was to keep her focused on her job. Even when there were two dogs playing right next to her, she kept her mind on her work. I came back from the training session much less tired and much more relaxed. Although this story isn't as remarkable as some you have received, the Gentle Leader® has allowed me to become a more effective guide dog handler. Thank you for helping make Waverly and me a safe and smooth working team. Stephanie McDowell and Waverly back to the top When our jet black Portugese Water Dog puppy arrived, the ring of white around her neck prompted the name Lacy. Now that she's an exuberant four months old, her name evolved to Lace-ifer, as in the spawn of Satan. You wouldn't think a twenty-two pound pup could exert so much thrust against a collar! With dismay I eyed the choke and prong collars at the pet store. Then a friend confided about her Border Collie, so boisterous and uncontrollable that her husband wanted to give the pooch away. She used the Gentle Leader® as part of an obedience class and voila! A different animal. After correctly adjusting a Gentle Leader® collar on Lacy's head, she ran amuck for a few minutes, rubbing her face against the carpet. However, being a food hound, yummy treats quickly took her mind off that odd feeling around her muzzle. The next week at puppy kindergarten, with six other pooches strainer and choking at their collars...Lace-ifer lay quietly by my side. No more pulling like a demon, no more gasping like a beached fish (that was me, by the way, trying to keep up)! She's a new puppy. Hmm. Guess we'll have to find a different nickname for her now: Lace-ifer just doesn't fit. Kathleen and Lacy back to the top | |
