Chocolate Farleigh here - I used to be the boss of my household. I was so cute and bouncy, that I could get away with anything. I pulled and jumped on my leash, dragging my human where ever I wanted to go. He would yell at me, but I was too busy dragging him around, I didn't pay attention to what he was saying. Then, one day, he took me to this doctor's office. There were lots of other doggies in the waiting room, and I wanted to sniff and greet all of them, but my human took me into a little room. A lady came in, and put this thing on me called the "Gentle Leader®". At first it felt kinda funny, with this strap over my nose; but it was stylish and it matched all my other leashes and things. After I got used to it, I felt a gentle serenity come across my being. I no longer felt the pressure of being the boss; my human was the boss! He could now lead me around, making all the wise decisions that need to be made; while I could go back to just enjoying my puppyhood! |
I wore the Gentle Leader most of the time for the next couple of weeks, and it really changed my life! Without the pressure of trying to be the boss, I actually began to listen to what my human was saying. When I did good things, he would give me a treat and tell me how good I was. I got a lot of pleasure out of the treats and knowing that I was making my human happy. Letting my human make all the major decisions in my life makes it a lot easier for me to do my job - being Man's Best Friend!

I still wear the Gentle Leader when we go out to places where there are crowds of people or dogs. I walk calmly beside my human while all the other dogs are pulling and dragging and barking. I am so proud of my self control! I can still sniff otherdogs, and I have made a lot more friends this way because I "sniff gently". As an added bonus, I no longer get sea-sick when I go sailing with my human! My human thinks it might have something to do with "pressure points", and that the Gentle Leader gently presses on them. I think it is just because I am more relaxed and I don't have to be boss of that big boat! I just sit back and enjoy the wind blowing through my hair. Chocolate Farleigh |
| Stella, my little black Miniature Schnauzer is the joy of my life. But she has ONE BIG ANNOYING HABIT: She's a "yap dog"! Whenever we would go for a walk, she would bark at anyone and everything she'd see. It was so embarrassing; I hated to take her for the walks that she loved so much. Then we got the Gentle Leader. Stella wasn't too keen on it at first. We used the indoor remote control line, and I would grab it or step on it whenever the doorbell rang; a gentle pull up and no bark! It was a miracle! Now, we can walk through the neighborhood without disturbing the peace. The other day, we passed by an acquaintance, and she said: "Oh, did you get a new dog?" Thank you for such a great product; my neighbors love you! |

My name is Pocahontas and I am rather new to this world. When my Mom brought me home, she would be yelling at me whenever she took me for walks. She said I was going to pull her arms off! The world is such an exciting place, I really didn't think too much about Mom's arms. Then she brought home this Gentle Leader thing, and put it on my spotted head. It was pretty weird at first, but I quickly found out that it was a lot easier to walk calmly with my Mom, than to pull her around. Now I can not only smell the roses, but I can hear the birds too, as my Mom isn't always yelling at me! Pocahontas |
